I am born and raised in Sweden, but I have lived abroad for 17 years (UK and Germany), and most of my higher education is from the UK.
ART
Earlier in my life I was I the creative field and I completed a Degree in Fine Art in London in 2007. This was followed by a Master Degree in Culture, Policy and Management. Subsequently I gained work experience working with these aspects within the cultural sector.
ART PSYCHOTHERAPY
However, creating art always proved so therapeutic and transformative to me, and combined with a keen interest in depth psychology and working with people, I a few years later decided I wanted to pursue a full-time 2 year Master’s Degree in Art Psychotherapy.
Post graduation I have experience of working as an art psychotherapist in a number of settings: a psychiatric ward within a hospital, primary and secondary schools, agencies specialized on trauma, domestic abuse and migration, as well as with private clients and groups.
REIKI HEALING
I did my level 1&2 training as a reiki practitioner at the London Reiki Academy, and later my Reiki Master level training at the London Collage of Spirituality in 2014. I was able to work with people in ways that go beyond words, and the limitations of the mind. It works on the depths of our soul, but also our body and mind – as they are intertwined.
I have also completed numerous courses and trainings in meditation/mindfulness, sound healing and massage, as well as a diploma course as a Nutrition Practitioner (Naturopathic approach).
I started my own company in London in 2014, offering individual sessions in Art Psychotherapy and Reiki Healing. I also ran regular workshops and groups where I combined creative expression, therapy, meditation and energy work.
YOGA
I have been a keen yoga practitioner for long and during my years studying at university my side job was assisting the administrative and functional aspects of London's largest yoga and holistic treatments studio. Working here opened my eyes to how yoga so effectively balances and strengthens both body and mind.
Turn the time forward, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of both the theory and practice of yoga and decided to train as a yoga teacher in 2018, Hatha yoga (RYT 200h). Subsequently I trained in Yin Yoga (50h) and Vinyasa Yoga (50h), as well as Kids and Teen Yoga. (20h).
MASSAGE
Massage promotes relaxation, reduces muscle tension and blockages in the body and improves healthy circulation. When undertaking my massage training in 2019 I also began to understand the value of massage as a form of therapy in and of itself and that it carries deeper benefits to both our physical and mental wellness.
SOUNDHEALING
As a Reiki master I’ve been interested the larger field of vibrational healing, and I’ve been drawn specifically to sound healing. Everything in this universe is made of energy, and energy ‘vibrates’ at a frequency, which is related to sound. Today I hold several sound healing sessions weekly and I also combine these with yin yoga.
To me, these practices intertwine beautifully and offer distinct methods of working with the different aspects of our being - physically, mentally and spiritually - all equally important to our wellbeing and fulfilment.
